diamond stacks

I'm in the process of building a scale (1/3) model of the MichCal #5. I have received pictures of the engine with the diamond stack, but am unable to determine if the stack was of welded/soldered or riveted construction. The actual blue prints do not state. Are there any diamond stacks "floating" about and can a picture of the finished seam be found. Thanks Doc
