From reading subject title and text I am not sure if the question pertains to profile or weight or both.
Here is a little information pertaining to both.
There was no single uniform rail weight throughout the system.
For example condensed file for 1903 shows:
Salida over Marshall Pass to Sargent 52# rail
Sargent to Gunnison and Aberdeen Jct 65# rail
Aberdeen Jct to Cimarron 40# rail
Cimarron to Montrose 45# rail
