Re: NNG, well sort of NG Motel info for Antonito

I attempted to stay at the NGI for the friends charters last fall. My Dad and I don't need much. When we checked in we were told they had a water leak and some of the rooms were without water. The plumber had been called days earlier but nobody had seen him yet. The plumbing in the room we got was just barely functional so long as we didn't want to take a shower. When I woke up after the first night I had flea bites on my shoulder and chest. I then took a closer look and both beds had more than a few fleas living in\on\around them. The lady at the front desk was VERY apologetic and she ended up refunding our whole reservation costs without me asking for it.

The 30mi drive to Alamosa is around the corner for those used to rural life like my Dad and I. We found that the grocery store in Antonito does have a hot food\deli in the back. They had some decent grab and go made on site breakfast burritos\sandwich too. I really don't think that most of the riders of the C&TS would want to stay anywhere near Antonito. Services are minimal and subject to change at any moment. With Alamosa not that far away, anyone who wants more than a single option will not stay in Antonito.
