A couple more pix from the old days

Tom Moungovan gave me these pix after his February 1977 visit to RFIRT and graciously agreed to let me scan and post then. The second picture taken at KP52 reinforces Olaf's comment above. Between the isolation and the wind swept bleak scenery, there was not a lot to attract rail fans other than the engines themselves. When I was visiting South American there were so many more scenic steam lines to chase I ignored it, and when it became one of the last, it was just too far to go. But I know some did make it, and hopefully there are more pix out there.
