Well, OK, then. Thanks, guys! More WP&Y things from the files. We'll get to the Colorado / NM narrow gauges in due course.

The White Pass & Yukon terminal at Whitehorse, YT on June 13, 1972. The container yard at the left was for transfer to highway vehicles, not to sternwheelers on the Yukon River, which is at the far right. Pity I didn't take more pix of the sternwheelers beached on the river bank.

The Whitehorse depot is in the distance, a lone parlor car (No. 242, Lake Teslin), between me and the depot. During the gold rush, and afterward, the river bank between the Yukon and the railroad had wharfs and warehouses for the transshipment of freight between the railroad and sternwheel steamboats operated by the WY&Y on the river. June 13, 1972.

Coach 216 being used in place of caboose on an oil train. The car is believed to be one which formerly ran on the Coeur d Alene Railway & Navigation Co. line from Old Mission Landing, Idaho to Wallace and Kellog, Idaho. Photo at Whitehorse, YT depot of WP&Y, July 24, 1972.

Oil train at Whitehorse depot, Whitehorse, YT. A mixed variety of tank cars, some formerly used on the D&RGW narrow gauge. July 24, 1972.

That'll do . . .
