Your story brought back my memory of being hauled back to Yokota AFB by the Air Police. I was a kid and I knew if I rode my bicycle down the ROW I would end up at a yard. I remember being fascinated by the maze of catenary wires at the yard. A Colonel saw me and I got in trouble!
There was a fellow who rented riding horses at the local depot by the base so I hung out there and sometimes used my allowance to ride them. JP
