Hi,
Tom Miller here. I sold my property and all the railroad equipment in early 2018.
Both Big Boy and K-36 were sold to two different buyers in New Zealand along with all the related rolling stock. Everything had to be regauged to 71/4" from 71/2" gauge. Big Boy weighed 1900lbs. K-36 weighed 2600lbs. There are videos of both loco's running in NZ on u tube.
I also have sold or am selling my entire American Flyer collection, Fine Art Model collection and F scale NG equipment.
The new owners of my property are turning it into a cider tasting operation. They will purchase diesel loco's and cars and use the out door RR for entertainment. The in door F scale NG RR will be where the tasting room in located and the NG RR will be used for entertainment.
My entire machine shop was sold to a fellow in Tennessee that is just getting started in the live steam hobby.
As for me, I live part time in Oregon and Arizona. I just purchased an Accucraft Fn3 coal fired C-25 and some cars to play with on a fabulous indoor G scale RR here in Portland Or. I also get my RR fix every year on the C&TS when myself and two friends charter a K-36 and train for four days and run all over the RR every September. What a blast!! There is nothing in this world better than shoveling coal and pulling the throttle on a full size K-36. If you haven't taken the engineer/fireman schools yet DO IT. It is an extraordinary experience you can not have anywhere else in the world. mountain railroading at its finest.
Happy Railroading,
Tom
