I vaguely remember someone – I think it was U. P. Joe Passentino at the Cal State RR Museum – telling me that before S.P. burned all those old paper records they had everything copied to IBM magnetic cards, which were later donated to the Museum. IIRC, at the time Joe told me about this there hadn't been a functioning mag card reader anywhere on the planet for at least 20 years, and that was more than twenty years ago

IIRC, CDs will last 100 years or so if stored properly, but will there be anything that can read them a century from now? And how long until 'The Cloud' evaporates??
