IIRC, the very last of the annual Kiwanis Kolor Karavan three-day fall colors excursions was held on Friday-Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 30 – Oct. 2, 1966. I'm pretty sure that our road engine Alamosa-Durango on Friday and Durango-Alamosa on Sunday was #483, but my photos aren't sharp enough to identify the Chama-to-Cumbres helper for the return trip on Sunday

It looks like the longer, lower tender of a K-36 – not the stubby one of a K-37 – and maybe there's a plow up front
