Per page 6 of 'Rio Grande Narrow Gauge – The Final Years, Alamosa to Chama' by Joseph P. Hereford Jr. and Ernest W. Robart, "In the summer of 1966, a stretch of roadbed on the Farmington branch subsided; while the track was being repaired, a project consuming several weeks, no freight trains ran."

I presume your slides were processed commercially, and have a factory date stamp on them of '09 1965' or '10 1965', so there's no doubt about your info, and SFAIK Ernie was a meticulous taker of notes, so there must have been a similar a problem both years — but apparently not in the same place . . .
