Ernie Robart: In His Own Words

December 29, 2018 11:53AM
As most people will know who read this forum, Ernie Robart was involved in the saving of the Colorado narrow gauge. His work, along with many others, led to the creation of today’s Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. He has sadly passed away but has left behind a treasure trove of images covering the last days of the Rio Grande’s narrow gauge freight operations.

I had the good fortune to meet Ernie through an introduction from my good friends Russ Sperry and Steve Forney. This tribute to him has been taken from interview footage that I filmed in 2014. It was never published due to problems with the sound - you may need to turn it up a little - and is my way of saying thank you.
