Nice and Easy, Dave -

Unless, as I did it in 2003, you're going uphill from Alpine Meadows to Tahoe City AFTER cycling from South Lake Tahoe to (almost) Truckee, and are faced with at least another 50 miles – including the climb to (almost) Spencer Summit – before coasting (more or less) back to S.L.T. as part of the Team-in-Training / Leukemia & Lymphoma Society team doing the Tahoe Century 100-mile ride as a charity fundraiser.  But I was a mere whippersnapper of 61 back then, not the 76 I would have been had I tried to do it again last summer . . .
