And Martin nails it. The former ROW of the LTR&T is now a bicycle path for about 7 miles from about Alpine Meadows to Tahoe City. Here's another view of the bike path & river:
We are looking downgrade towards Truckee. I tried to find several historic photo locations to snap "Then and Now" photos but only came up with one that I'll share later.
It's a very nice, easy ride for anyone that wants to incorporate railfanning with exercise...
