Took me a while, but here are some photos of the interior of 04953 from a couple days ago;
looking towards the "B" end
Looking towards the "A" end
The dry sink cabinet and icebox at the "B" end of the car. These are original
A close up of the long boarded up end door in the "B" end of the car. This was nailed shut by the D&RGW, probably in 1945.
The stove. While the location is original, the stove itself is not. (it is a replica D&RGW coach stove made by Uhrich Locomotive Works almost 20 years ago. It works great)
Essentially, with the exception of the icebox and dry sink cabinet, the interior of the car was gutted by the time I got it (2002). That said, I did not see much evidence of there ever having been much else inside the car, so who knows.
