When my child was younger and needed help with various school projects I would get out my T-square (which was once my fathers) and triangles to lay stuff out for her. When she was in High School (Class of '05) she took drafting so that she could learn how to use them for herself. She was less than amused that it was all on computer...
As to 5.25" floppies, I still have a 5.25 drive or two lying around that, AFAIK, still work. My desktop is down for the count right now (Power supply?) and I can't afford to fix it. If all goes according to plan for the next few months (yeah, right) I should be fixing it in February or so. If anyone really does need something off a 5.25" floppy, I'd be happy to try out the old drives at that time and transfer stuff to 3.5 or USB stick around about that time.
Hank, who really needs to build a new desktop soon, the cards in the current one average about 15 years of age...
