You're right, Casey -
CAD is amazing! About 25 years ago I bought a copy of Generic Cadd – an inexpensive, poor-man's version of AutoCad – and taught myself well enough to design a three-stall roundhouse and turntable for the Fillmore & Western RR's proposed museum. The drawings were accurate enough that the engineer they hired to install the 90' turntable purchased from an abandoned engine yard in Capriole (??) Canada used them to lay out the track plan and locate the switch for the turntable lead. For various and sundry reasons ($$$, $$$ and $$$) the roundhouse / museum has not (yet) been constructed
. . .
Now if I can only find those original files – and figure out how to output them from .gen files to .jpeg – maybe I can salvage my reputation as the world's worst yodeler and wannabe singer/songwriter!
