Almost done -
The little trestle at 287.50 was well off to the side of the pair of ruts that passed for a service road back in the D&RGW days, but Ernie somehow managed to catch up to the train within less than a mile — maybe there was a brief stop to inspect the trestle? The second of the two pacing shots shows the train at Hangman's (or Ferguson's?) trestle, and then the train is seen approaching the yard in Antonito:

IIRC, the "End of Standard Gauge" sign still stands across Highway 285 from the current C&TS yard, although it's been many, many years since a standard gauge train could get anywhere near it:

Next are a couple of "Worm's Eye" views of the train as it paused in Antonito, where a good many of the passengers left the Special and boarded buses bound for Santa Fe and Albuquerque:

And here – finally! – is a hi-res version of Ernie's famous "Bird's Eye" view of the NPS Special paused in Antonito, far sharper than the copy I scanned (with permission) from Ernie's book more than a dozen years ago:
