Very interesting question... I think a lot depends on what time frame you want to compare to. I don't believe Marshall Pass was all that tremendously busy in the late 40's, but was active.

I'm guessing things could have been handled, but the shop force would have been a lot busier! Both locomotives, and especially rolling stock would have been in high demand. Without the gondolas from Marshall, I'm not sure what would have been used for pipe gons and idlers.
