Castleton was the end of track after 1948. The line to Baldwin was taken up then. The line to the Kubler mine had been taken up in 1944. IIRC, the Kubler mine continued shipping over the branch, trucking loads to Castleton and loading there. The first 1.2 miles of the Kubler spur (to Coopers siding) were all that remained of the original DSP&P branch to Baldwin (Old Baldwin, track lifted by C&S ca 1909), the balance belonged to the mining company.
It should be said that a couple of names (Baldwin, Mt Carbon) that were used in this area migrated from town to town over the years.
