Lady Luck was a bit kinder to me, Greg -
I returned my dad's old Practika to him in late '67 or early '68, and got myself a Pentax H3v with a 50mm 'normal' lens and a 70-150 zoom — just in time to catch the last REAL freights in 1968. Otherwise it's very unlikely that I'd have had any photos at all in last June's issue of
Trains magazine

I don't remember how it got damaged; it probably had some spots on it that I tried to clean with the wrong stuff. The blemishes aren't so bad when it's converted to black & white and warmed up a little — at least it's a lemon rather than a road apple
