I was wondering if anyone had any information about the years in which #453 and #463 operated on the Rio Grande Southern?
In most of the books I have, I can pin point a "specific date" as noted in the credits when the picture was taken, but I wanted to try and get a broader picture. I know #453 was used as a helper, as was #463, but it appears to have been a little earlier (early 40s?) #463 seems to have served in the mid 40s until the early 50s, as there are some pictures of it helping with #20 and another engine (I think #42 but may be wrong here). I am in the midst of picking an "era" for the railroad I am building and have #461 and #455 (PW) so I was currently looking at the Late 40s/50s. I have access to these other road numbers and wanted to know how far I would have to spread my imagination to allow for all of them to operate at the same time if it they even overlapped at all.
