We did this railroad way back in 1994 as a segment in our 2nd America By Rail video. This line offers a lot of interesting locations and the grade from the end of the back to the station is all upgrade. We shot 15 that day. The Railroad owner at the time was very receptive to our visit. They allowed me to ride in a trailer behind one of their railcars AHEAD of the 15 in both directions. Ironically we have a video coming out of Narrow Gauge In The 90's which has a lengthy segment on this railroad and much of the footage we shot during our visit. Riding ahead of 15 was pretty incredible really, but sitting on that milk grate was not the most comfy. Luckily they provided a cushion for it!
. Larry I will have this video ready sometime in October. They are at the duplication facility now.
For fans interested in the photo special this is a more than economical price. Those of you out there should take advantage of seeing 2 hard-working shays powering upgrade and through the woods.
If I were not 2500 miles away I would do it!
