Hi, all -
Labor Day Weekend being mentioned on another thread reminded me that the upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend, 2018, will be the 50th Anniversary of the National Park Service Inspection Special, when #483 pulled a caboose, two coaches and a combine from Durango to Chama on 11/23/68 and from Chama to Alamosa on 11/24

Whereas #483 has been recently resuscitated by the C&TS, thanks in no small measure due to the many minor details created and donated by Cody Akin, what would it cost for a small group of dedicated fans to charter a re-enactment of the second day of the N.P.S. special, at least from Chama to just shy of Antonito, on 11/24/18? I realize that re-creating this famous Ernie Robart photo of the train will not be possible

Roosso (Notso?) Loco
p.s. There would be no shortage of comfortable seating, but an extra fare could be charged for accommodations in the Parlor Car at the rear of the train and the Parlor Caboose at the front. #489, which resembles #483 even more closely than does #488, is already wearing a plow
