Finally made it up to Eureka a few weeks ago, wish I could've gotten more pictures and had a better camera but I was crunched for time and it was pretty cold out for August. Left Ridgway when it was 83 degrees in the morning and by the time we made it to Animas Forks it was 42 degrees and storming, shouldn't have worn shorts!



Lots of SN ties still in place around the mill.



Hurry and visit the site before the county road department buries the site in their gravel pile



Also if you ever make it out to Eureka check out the canyon just south of mill. There is a hidden waterfall and cool mining remnants including a ladder leading to the heavens and a short little prospect right up against the waterfall with some pretty cool crystal formations inside it.
