Antonito Switch Question

September 03, 2018 05:18AM
In one of the postings regarding the last D&RGW narrow gauge freight over Cumbres, one of the photos of the train at Antonito caught my attention.

In this photo:

At the bottom right is a frog on a switch. The frog is set so that a train can only take one direction, onto the siding. How would a standard gauge engine or train be able to go straight through? Clearly the frog would have to move, but with the partial photo I see no mechanism to do that.
