Good Evening yet again -
As noted previously, while our friend Ernie Robart was following and photographing the last D&RGW freight from Chama to Durango, Olaf Rasmussen headed toward Big Horn to get movies of the last freight eastbound from Cumbres to Alamosa. While waiting for the freight to arrive, he took this still photo of helper #484 – running light ahead of the train – as she passed through the curve just west of m.p. 305

There are a LOT more trees at this location today, and a large pile of ballast has been dumped next to the road for use by the C&TS' track crew.
Meanwhile, I had driven from Cumbres to Antonito and then south along the railroad to the small two-span trestle at m.p. 286.72, where I caught #498 in action

. . . and a going-away shot as she approached Antonito

His movie-making near Big Horn completed, Olaf had beaten me to Antonito — where he took this shot as #498 pulled in

By the time I arrived Olaf was chatting with fireman Gayle Cunningham while his dad (at right, in tan jacket) was checking out the train
