Aspens

I noticed on my ride to Silverton yesterday that there has been some color changes with the aspens & willows in the last week. Not much...a branch here and there, a yellow hue in some aspen groves (most notably on the mountain directly north of Silverton). Not much but I suspect the aspens have been placed under a lot of stress with our long term drought. Some years the aspen leaves just turn a nasty dry brown & promptly fall off.
Sorry to report that this will be my last aspen report as my wife is receiving knee replacement so I will be home bound for awhile.
