D&RGW high side gondola 1267 received a new coat of paint for the first time in at least 50 years, the first time it has been painted by someone besides the D&RGW since it left the factory. 1267 will be lettered in the pre-rebuild style, circa 1924. The car is presently sitting on the site of what was the next to last stall of the wooden part of the Como roundhouse.
Former Cumbres & Toltec rider boxcar 210 poses for its official re-rebuilder's photos this afternoon. The car was converted from D&RGW boxcar 3156 in 1972 by Scenic Railways, the first operator of the C&TS. Judging by the stencil on the brake cylinder, its last season of use on the C&TS was 1991.
To be continued....
