The D&S crews are working very hard at Rockwood preparing to run two trains in the morning. It has been raining very hard in the valley and in town at Durango. The Hermosa area was under another flash flood warning but I only saw small flooding in a few areas. They will be using 476 and 480 on the trains in the morning. The 473 is dead on the spur track and is in reserve. The 481 is at Silverton. Not sure if she is on the wye or scale track by the depot. The track crew was working on the wye tracks. The wye is only used to turn engines a few times a year on test runs and the beer and wine trains. It has probably been used more the past couple of days than in a long time. The D&S cannot extend the tail of the wye as Elbert Creek is at the end of the track.
Note: that stub switch is the last one on the D&RGW narrow gauge.
They have two trains ready to go out. One of the brakeman told me I should have been there yesterday as they struggled to switch 32 cars in a yard not meant for this
