a fellow from Eureka named Eric Pastorino has been trying to raise interest (and money) to rebuild a portion of the old E&P grade. The rebuilt line would run from the Melka ranch, site of the depot to the mouth of Eureka canyon, about five miles. The county paid for a study to be done and I think that is where it ended. Greg
