Box cars held 30 in the full coaches, 24 (I think) in the 4 restroom cars. They weighed about 15 tons

The new passenger cars hold 44. Less in the cars with restrooms. They weigh about 30 tons.

The old cars were a lot more efficient in terms of dead-weight per passenger.
