I was in Skagway this week and asked the rail operations supervisor in regards to these cars being sold or otherwise. I was told that they had no intention of getting rid of their "Heritage" cars and that the Hammond coach listed was in the restoration shop at this time. They apparently have two of these J Hammond coaches in their heritage fleet of cars.
The WP&YRR is planning to add trains and this was noted when I observed MOW crews laying a new ribbon rail passing track at around MP 11. These trains would run short two hour trips in between the 3.5 hour runs to the summit/Canadian border. I will post pictures later. A lot going on there! John Christensen, Director - NCNGRR Museum
