Ridgway update and grand re-opening

July 14, 2018 09:24PM
Today we finished moving our rolling stock to the new location, so the new location now has 2000 feet of the 2800-foot loop usable, Motor 1, the outfit car, stock car, RGS 252, D&RG Business Car C, drop bottom gondola and D&RG caboose 575 on site, the train shed is complete providing open sided weather protection, sidings are under construction, the original Depot outbuilding that we use for archive storage is on site. We should easily be able to complete the loop and other track work as well as moving the remaining artifacts before the end of the season. As a result we are hosting a "Grand Re-opening": this coming Saturday, July 21st, from 9 am to 4 pm, with free rides on RGS Motor 1. The new location is 200 N. Railroad Street, right across from town park and town hall, and next door to the historic depot. Indoor exhibits remain at the old location at the corner of routes 550 and 62, and will remain there until the end of 2020.

The old site is looking might empty, but the new site is looking really, really good! Please drop by if you are in the area!
