In Georgetown, near the old DSP&P roadbed, just east of the Georgetown Loop Railroad, is a restored firehouse that serves as a fire museum. They have an antique fire engine and displays explaining how fires were fought in the 19th century. It is definitely worth a visit. Nearly every single town in the State of Colorado that existed in the 19th century burned to the ground at one time or another. This is why you see so much brick and stone construction in historical buildings.
