Michael, I absolutely plan to throughly document the restoration as I go along.
Top priority will be removing the boiler and finishing the internal inspection in preparation for the Form 4. This includes cutting out the old tubes, cleaning the tube sheets to perform the necessary dye penetrant tests, needlescale the boiler interior to examine the condition of the shell and check for pitting.
Once that’s done I can do some ultrasounds on the dry pipe and do the full grid. All in good time!
My emphasis of work will be on the frame and running gear but getting the boiler off and completing it’s inspection is to be done first.
