This is a pair of photos taken looking down the incline on Speckerman Mountain. The "Then" shot was probably taken in 1925 and is attributed to US Berkeley's Bancroft Library. It can be found in Hank Johnston's Thunder in the Mountains. The "Now" shot was taken on Saturday, July 7, 2018.
You can see thick brush has obscured the incline for the past 90 years. The fire burned off enough that is is once again possible to trace it up the hill...
