For the regular day-to-day coaches, Tuscan Red shows up well against the aspen – whether they're green in the Spring or gold in the Fall. A high-quality glossy Maroon w/ black letterboard, like the parlor car circa 2009, is IMHO even better

Of course the historic cars should be painted & lettered as close as possible to correct for the era to which they're being restored.
