D&S trip report 6/27/18...And a nightmare

I rode from Rockwood to Cascade today behind the black engine (sorry...Im not into diesels). A coach & two gons with another coach for Tall Timber zip liners. About 130 passengers at $60 apiece plus another $10 for the bus ride or $8 parking at Rockwood; Seems pretty steep to me considering the ride but I didn't hear any complaints.
A shudder through my system if the D&S decided to convert itself to a diesel Rockwood to Cascade operation. Not much money but if you treated steam as an avoidable cost maybe a profit could be made especially if you go for short range returns. Sell all of the Durango real estate for development, donate the ROW for a big tax break, sell off all the steam equipment and what you don't sale donate for tax breaks. TS for Durango & Silverton. Seems unlikely but corporate raiders have been looting companies for years...Break the old company up, saddle every thing with new debt, go home to Costa Rica with your fellow raiders (sorry investors).
