In the spirit of the above 2 posts, I agree that basically nature cannot be completely controlled. Decisions regarding where you live can result in obvious situations as far as safety, whether in/near large forests, on the seacoast (hurricanes), or near a large river or floodplain. To those who do decide to live in such areas, be prepared for the worst - including an evacuation plan. Regarding forests management techniques, how do you mitigate fire danger regarding drought and lightning ?
