A few years ago, some Mexican railfans wanted to save a couple of the diesels -- one they wanted to save one in Mexico and were interested in getting the #1 north of the border for preservation. Haven't heard anything in several years.
As I understand, the whole property has been shut down for years by a militant labor situation. From what I recall the labor movement took possession of the property and the owning company ended up walking away from it.
