If you get to the Vance Junction area, an easy drive is to take the road built on the RGS right of way from Ilium toward bridge 43A (County Road 63J). You can't drive far enough to get to the trestle site, but you can drive a lot of the grade. You can hike the grade from where the road leaves the grade all the way to the Ophir low line and it isn't difficult, but it is long. Look for the Galloping Goose Trail sign. Trout Lake is also an easy drive on the grade with the last standing RGS trestle visible. Teluride is not a complete waste, especially if you continue to Pandora and check out the mill. It is a beautiful location as well. I liked it a lot better in the '70s and '80s before money came to town.
