There's a good little café –
At least it was good when I was there with Steve Forney about three years ago – at the
Rio Grande Southern Hotel in Delores, visible, and about a 100-yard walk, from the Depot/Museum, and it's also a good place to spend the night after a long day at Mesa Verde — especially if you're planning to head north on 145 through Rico to Ridgway (assuming the Burro fire has been suppressed by then and 145 is open). Forget To-Hell-You-Ride – it's gone WAY downhill into the Aspen / Beverly Hills / Ojai hoity-toity sort of foo-foo place since I lived there in '72-'73 – and just head on over Dallas Divide to Ridgway (after checking out the partially restored RGS facilities at Vance Junction, of course – see [
ngdiscussion.net]).
