And thus ends what was supposed to be my first ride on the D&S in about 25 years. We are still coming into Chama for the Friends dinner in a couple of weeks, followed by a ride on the C&TS the next day. From there, we were planning on going to 4 Corners, then up to ride the D&S. I know that the 416 fire is hurting the local economy, and I would really like to keep as much of my dollars originally budgeted for the Durango area in the Durango area, but I just can't seem to be able to convince myself that a walk through the museum would be worth the drive. If anyone on here has any suggestions of things to do in the Durango area (geared towards the older generation), I would really like to hear them. Otherwise, it looks like we will just have to cancel this leg of the trip and try again some other year.
