It's a sad day & I fear the locals opposed to the train will be using this incident to eliminate the D&S as we know it. I just try to remain hopeful that cooler heads will prevail. From TRN.Trains.com ~ "Railroad officials say when train service between Durango and Silverton does resume, it will most likely be with diesel locomotives in an effort to reduce the chance of starting additional fires with cinders from the steam locomotives. A speeder with water and firefighting equipment follows every train during the summer to put out spot fires and the railroad even leases a helicopter to extinguish blazes." [
