Stewart,

It speeds up the track laying so much. Three of us work together to pick the rail and align it and bolt up the joint bars while the rest of the crew straighten the ties, gauge and spike. If we had to wait on them to come and lift it would cut down on how much rail we can lay a day. The President of the Museum owns the crane and runs it.
