Was there, or is there, another gas station on that side of the street? In 1992, I went to a place to get my oil pan repaired. We bottomed out trying to get to the river below Osier(Stupid me). When we gave up and got to the railroad I set-up for a shot, and we noticed a steady liquid pouring from under the engine. We packed up and drove the several miles out of there. Ran across a septic tank guy at a house near the main highway. I asked if he had any oil, and bought 5 quarts from him. I filled the engine, and left for Antonito. Found the service station, and they did some sort of quick liquid fix over the cracked area. So we headed for Chama. Half way there we noticed it was leaking again. We somehow made it to Chama, and went to a garage there. They welded the bad spot (Without removing the oil pan I might add), and that sucker lasted for many more years. The Antonito place did a mediocre job to say the least!!!! I bet it was this same location!!! Better to have a steam shop there with folks that know what they are doing. Best of Luck with the restorations.
