I love the connections listed at Alamosa in the ad. I notice they kinda, sorta, forgot to mention that to go, for example, to Montrose via Salida as the ad suggests, one would have had to lay over at Alamosa for about 12 hours (8:35 PM to 7:50 AM)[1] and at Salida for about 19 hours (11:20 AM to 6:45 AM)[1] finally arriving at 1:45 PM[1] on the 3rd day! Even worse if you went via Durango and the RGS (overnite layovers at Alamosa/Antonito, Durango & Telluride, 4Days) Would have been only 2 days to take the Std gauge from Alamosa to Denver(train #116) then to go on via Salida on train 15/315! D&RG schedules were OK for the times if you wanted to go to the Front Range of Colorado but pretty awful for moving around SW Colorado/NW New Mexico.
