Steam Fix

It is a week until trains start rolling regularly on the C&TS. I went out this morning to get my steam fix on the D&S and saw first hand how dangerous the fire danger is. I hiked down below the Highway 550 Overpass to photograph the second train with 480 (mile post 467). After the train had passed, fires were spotted at mile post 466.5 just south of the overpass. For those of you familiar with the area, it was near Cres Flemming's home. Another fire was spotted at mile most 467.5. So I was between two fires. The D&S brought in the helicopter and motor cars (speeders) with water tanks. They got the fires out rather quickly, but it showed me that it is going to be a difficult summer for both railroads.
