In My Union Pacific Steam Vol 2 (844 Returns). I said all the scenes were of "Company Business" cause
it was used on 2 freights from Cheyenne-North Platte-Omaha, a BOD dinner train, and 2 more freights back to Cheyenne.
These were not excursions for railfans, but all company business.
Technically I guess any time steam runs where it makes money is "Regular Service" including hauling the regular trains. The videos I did in 2014
were all "C&TS trains" in ones form another, but no "Fantrips" per se. There were some special trains like the Sunset Dinner Train, and the Engineer School trains.
As long as it all makes money in the long run its a good thing for sure.
Hey Earl, remember the near mutiny on the last day of the Craft trips. I was on the flat in front of the mid-train helper getting off when all that drama went down at Whiplash!!!
The Craft trips were pretty amazing for those not familiar. John Craft advertised the "Ultimate Rio Grande Freights" for the first weekend after the regular season ended in October of 1992. They sold out, so he offered a second weekend right after it. Then he tacked on a 5th day, which was the Friday before the last weekend. That was a three engine Cumbres turn in rare afternoon lighting. The weekend trips featured rear pusher from Chama-Cumbres, single engine to Antonito. Return from Antonito the next day had a mid-train helper, and it was the first since 1968. So during a span of 9 days there were 5 days of freights, each with multiple engines. I talked to Joe Vigil who said we were extremely lucky on the weather and a few days later it snowed. We had clear weather the whole trip. It would be hard to top those trips.
