Don't mean to hijack your thread John, but I looked at the old film footage and could not find an exact match to your shots. Here are some so-so frame grabs of 494 and 495 on a train with similar late afternoon lighting. Rough shape film, but looks better as film than these stills. Maybe someone can tell where these are compared to yours. There is a cut with a rock face just after the cut if that is any clue. Seem to be somewhat similar to your elevation to the tracks if you get my drift there. Numbers are off cause I missed the #5, which is #6. Greg
